Jason Day will be determined to end his trophy drought when he takes part in this year's RSM Classic

The Australian star has struggled to regain the form which saw him win 2019's The Challenge: Japan Skins title which remains his last professional win.

Day, who is a former World Number 1 in the Official World Golf Rankings, won The Challenge: Japan Skins title over Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Hideki Matsuyama.

The Beaudesert-born golfer's last win on the PGA Tour came at the Wells Fargo Championship in North Carolina.

Currently ranked 96th on the Official World Golf Rankings, Day won the tournament by two strokes over Aaron Wise and Nick Watney, his second victory of the 2017/18 season.

The 33-year-old has suffered a poor year having missed the cut in the past two Masters Tournaments which has been exacerbated by his back injury.

A two-time US Open runner-up, Day barely made the cut at  this year's PGA Championship and he will view the RSM Classic as a chance to win some silverware.

"Currently, I'm probably going to play three events in six months,” Day said last month as he discussed his struggles on the golf course on Bunkered.

“I'm playing this week and I'm scheduled to play the Shootout, and then the next tournament I'll play is Farmers [Insurance Open. So I guess that's three events in five, six months, something like that. [I’ll be] focusing a lot on my mind, focusing a lot on my body.

"Both are very much important, like both body and mind. Trying to work on myself personally, which is something that we don't do enough of as professional athletes," he continued.

" And then on top of it, trying to work on my swing to help complement the mind and body."
