AC Milan will aim to keep up their perfect league record when they welcome Roma to the San Siro Stadium on Monday 26 October 2020, kick-off at 21:45. The match is one of 10 in Round 5 of the 2020-21 Serie A season spread over 24-26 October 2020.

Milan made it four wins from four Serie A matches this term when a brace of goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic secured a 2-1 win in the derby against Internazionale last weekend. It’s perhaps too early to talk of the Rossoneri as title challengers, but they continue to impress in 2020.

“We are taking it one game at a time,” said Ibrahimovic. “When I arrived, the objective was qualifying for Europe and we did it. I do think the Scudetto is a possibility, because if you believe, then you can achieve anything. There’s a long way to go, though.”

Roma, meanwhile, look to be building momentum after two straight wins. They edged Udinese 1-0 away from home before the international break and then thumped Benevento 5-2 at the Stadio Olimpico last weekend, with Eden Dzeko, Pedro, Jordan Veretout and Carles Perez sharing the goals.

“We put in a good performance, we’re feeling confident and it’s true that it is a long season, but the team is working well. We’ve got quite a few games coming up in a short period of time, but we’re confident,” said Giallorossi manager Paulo Fonseca. “I like my team to be positive, to create lots of scoring opportunities and be proactive. A lot of coaches feel that way now and it’s good for football.”

In head-to-head terms, Milan and Roma have met in 56 previous matches across all competitions. Both the Rossoneri and the Giallorossi have claimed 19 wins apiece, while 18 games have ended in draws.

The teams’ two Serie A clashes last season saw Roma win 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico in October 2019, but Milan claimed revenge with a 2-0 triumph at the San Siro in June 2020.
