As Arsenal prepares for their first UEFA Champions League final since 2006, Mikel Arteta and Declan Rice recently spoke of their excitement at facing Paris Saint-Germain at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on Saturday.
The Gunners are aiming for a historic double to end the 2025/26 season after getting their hands on the Premier League crown for the first time since their ‘Invincibles’ 2003/04 campaign.
Following an unbeaten showing in the competition’s league phase, the Gunners saw off sides such as Bayer Leverkusen, Sporting, and Atletico Madrid in the knockout rounds.
Speaking ahead of the final, Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta expressed that his side’s morale is at an all-time high and hopes to maintain their ‘energy’ in facing the reigning UCL champions.
"We need that energy to flow and going against that, I think it will be a big mistake," Arteta said.
"We talked about already what we have to do in Budapest, how we're going to use all the incredible energy that we're all carrying towards that final, and tomorrow we're going to start to prepare it.
"And we can't wait to write a new chapter in the history of our club and lift the Champions League”.

As for Declan Rice, who has performed as one of Europe’s best midfielders this season, the 27-year-old believes that the London club has no room for error against PSG.
The former UEFA Conference league winner went on to urge his team to ‘empty the tank’ in their final match of the season.
“You need to be on your A game to beat PSG. You need that fuel in your belly from the first whistle, that you're going to win this final,” Rice said
“It's the biggest competition in football. Champions League final, it gets no bigger than that. What a chance, what an opportunity.
“It'll be the last kick of club football for the season, so to go out on a high and give it absolutely everything, one last empty of the tank and give it everything you've got to win such a beautiful trophy with this club”.
