Fabio Di Giannantonio will be eager to close the gap on the top three riders by clinching the Czechia MotoGP title.

Most recent race

The Ducati Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team rider failed to secure a podium spot at the German MotoGP on July 13, the most recent event on the 2025 MotoGP calendar.

Di Giannantonio endured a disappointing race as he was forced to retire after being involved in an accident, but he collected six points from the sprint event, where he finished fourth.

MotoGP title ambitions

The Italian Grand Prix motorcycle racer is placed fourth in the 2025 MotoGP Riders' standings, having collected 142 points from 11 races.

Di Giannantonio is 55 points behind leader Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati and 202 points behind leader Marc Marquez.

Why Di Giannantonio could win the 2025 Czechia MotoGP

The 26-year-old is enjoying one of his best seasons in MotoGP, having secured two podium spots in the USA and Italy, which sees him close to the main title contenders.

Di Giannantonio won the 2018 Czechia Moto3 and he knows what it takes to taste success in the Czech Republic, having also finished second in the 2019 Czechia Moto2.

What did he say?

“I was pushing and keeping my own pace to limit the gap to the leader and maintain the margin over the rider behind," Di Giannantonio said after the 2025 German MotoGP.

"I braked five meters later with two more degrees of lean angle, and unfortunately I had a front lock at Turn 1. It happens, but we take the positive, that is much, because we had a super weekend: all-time lap record on Friday, great Sprint on wet starting from behind, and today we did an amazing start.

"We were the closest to the top place. We’re learning. Anyway, I am happy with this momentum, we’ve been growing and here at Sachsenring we were very strong.”
