Mike Brown proved once again that he is the best coach in the
National Basketball Association (NBA) during the 2022/23 season.
Sacramento Arrival
In May 2022, Brown was announced as the next head coach of the Sacramento Kings ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
His tenure with the Kings began after the Golden Warriors finished their 2021–22 season where they won an NBA championship with Brown being the team's assistant coach.
At Kings, the 53-year-old tactician was hoping to prove that he remains one of the top coaches in the game having served as an assistant at Warriors for six years.
Successful Season
In his inaugural season with the Kings, Brown coached the Sacramento side to a 48–34 record and the team's first playoff appearance since 2006.
In April 2023, Brown was named NBA Coach of the Season, receiving 100 votes and becoming the first coach in history to win the award by a unanimous vote.
He had also won the accolade in 2009 after guiding the Cleveland Cavaliers to a league-high and franchise-best 66–16 record.

"It’s humbling. I’ve been around long enough to know that these awards don’t come around often,” Brown said after winning the 2022/23 Coach of the Season award.
"You can’t take them for granted because you don’t know if you’re ever gonna be in this position again. But, you know, I truly believe this. I have an amazing staff.
