Meanwhile, Juventus emerged as 1-0 winners against Udinese Calcio at home in their last league match which was played on January 7.

The win extended the Old Lady's unbeaten run to eight matches in this competition having recorded eight consecutive victories.

Juventus are also undefeated in their last four matches on the road in Serie A having registered four consecutive victories as the visitors.

"We are in a good period of form, but we must raise the bar in terms of performances," Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri said after their win over Udinese.

"We didn't have the right concentration against Cremonese (in Wednesday's 1-0 win), it was better with Udinese who are a strong side and we had more chances in the second half.

"Napoli are still clearly the favourites to win the Scudetto, they have a big advantage, whereas we want to consolidate the top four. We are almost halfway through the season and are doing well."

The last meeting between Napoli and Juventus in a league match was on 6 January 2022.

The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in a game that was played at Juventus' home ground, Allianz Stadium which was opened in 2011.
