Sunday, 09 August 2020

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton will be looking to continue his dominance in the 2020 season at the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix on August 09.

The British driver, who is the reigning Formula One world champion, has won the last three races in Austria, Hungary and Britain.

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen and Ferrari starlet Charles Leclerc finished second and third respectively in the latest race which is the British Grand Prix.

Hamilton has started the season very well as he looks to clinch his seventh Formula One championship this term.

The accomplished driver would then join Ferrari legend Michael Schumacher, who holds the record for the most titles (7).

Unsurprisingly, Hamilton is placed at the top of the Drivers' Championship standings having accumulated 88 points from the first four races.

His teammate Valtteri Bottas is on position two with 58 points and he is followed by Verstappen, who has collected 52 points thus far.

I’ve grown up, particularly when you’re in karting, you’ve got the wheel to wheel racing," Hamilton said. "That’s what has always excited me, that’s what gets me up in the morning. This is not the championship fight I would have hoped for. "I’d much, much prefer to be having a super close battle with these two here (Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc) because that’s what gets me going. “I really, really hope in the future it’s closer.” Mercedes are sitting at the top of Constructors' standings and they are followed by Red Bull and McLaren respectively. 2020 British Grand Prix results Winner: Lewis Hamilton - Mercedes Runner-Up: Max Verstappen - Red Bull Third-Place: Charles Leclerc - Ferrari
