Serie A
Matchday 18
Lazio vs Napoli
Stadio Olimpico
Rome, Italy
Sunday, 4 January 2025
Kick-off is at 13:30
Reigning Serie A champions Napoli are keeping abreast with the likes of Inter and AC Milan at the top of the pile after this past weekend’s action and will now turn their attention to Lazio in matchday 18 at Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
After an uncharacteristic 1-0 defeat against Udinese on 14 December, Napoli returned to the winning column via a 2-0 win over Cremonese this past Sunday. Napoli have now bagged four wins out of their last five Serie A assignments.
Napoli are within two points of Inter Milan who lead the way at the top of the table, while Lazio are in eighth position with 24 points after 17 matches played.
Lazio jotted down back-to-back draws with Cremonese and Udinese last time out, a run of form that includes one win, three stalemates and a loss in each of their last handful of ties.

Speaking after Napoli’s win over Cremonese, Antonio Conte believes that his side capped off a remarkable year after winning the Supercoppa title, while they remain in the race for the 2025/26 league crown.
“We celebrate a wonderful year where we in my view did something truly unexpected and extraordinary with the Scudetto, then capped off with the Supercoppa, as beating teams like Milan, Inter and Bologna in that tournament was special too,” Conte said.
“It was such a great calendar year full of satisfaction, and the celebrations in Naples are truly different to other places. We celebrated the Scudetto and the Supercoppa, now in Serie A we are up there, trying to stick close to the top spots.
“We are facing numerous problems this season, some of them very serious, but we’re dealing with them as courageous men. I always tell the lads, they can win or lose, but they want to honour that Scudetto symbol on their jersey and make the fans proud.”
