The Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets will be looking to consolidate their top four places on the NBA Western Conference standings.

The Clippers are having a great season having already qualified for the playoffs after securing 45 wins thus far in the regular season.

As a result, they are placed second on the Western Conference and they are set to host Portland Trail Blazers at the Staples Center on August 08.

The Clippers are hoping to improve on their 48-34 record last year after making the 8th seed in the Western Conference standings.

They have never won the NBA championship and they will be hoping to go all the way and clinch their maiden title this season.

Meanwhile, the Rockets have also secured their place in the playoffs having recorded 42 victories so far in the regular campaign.

They are scheduled to lock horns with an in-form San Antonio Spurs side at the Toyota Center on August 11.

Rockets duo of Russell Westbrook and James Harden became the first teammates in NBA history to average 30+ points and 5+ assists per game in February 2020.

They are two-time NBA championship winners having clinched the most prestigious basketball club competition in the world twice in 1994 and 1995.

Harden is looking forward to the playoffs as the shooting guard looks to inspire the Rockets to their third NBA championship title this season.

“We don’t have any fans, so it’s you versus us and we’re going to have to figure it out,” Harden said on Waco Tribune-Herald.

“If you’re fourth seed, fifth seed, sixth seed, it doesn’t really matter. For us, it’s about being in shape and making sure that our offense and our defense are crispy and we’re all on the same page.”
