Aleix Espargaro will be hoping to boost his hopes of winning the 2022 MotoGP World Championship by clinching the British Grand Prix.
The Aprilia rider secured a podium spot at last year's British MotoGP as he finished third having started sixth on the grid.
However, Espargaro narrowly missed out on a podium spot in the most recent race in the current term as he finished fourth at the Dutch MotoGP on June 26.

It was a race which saw the Spanish star makeup eleven positions, break the track fast lap record, and finish just two and a half seconds behind the winner.
Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia won the 2022 Dutch MotoGP and he was followed by his teammate Marco Bezzecchi and Maverick Viñales of Aprilia.
Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo is still at the top of the 2022 riders' standings with Johann Zarco of Ducati placed third.
Espargaro is sitting in the second spot on the standings and he will move to the top of the table if he wins the British Grand Prix and Quartararo fails to record points in Silverstone.
"There is something they don’t give points for but which is extremely important for me, especially in terms of the championship, and that is the sensation of feeling like the best on the track," Espargaro said after the Dutch MotoGP.
"Today I was back to having that feeling. I had it throughout the weekend and I'm rather certain that the win would have been within our potential. My Aprilia was extraordinary today.
"Unfortunately, the contact was an unlucky situation and after that I just focused on giving one hundred percent and demonstrating my speed," he continued.
"Ahead of the weekend I had said that my goal was to close the points gap behind Fabio before the summer break and we managed to do just that, with an important performance. I'm sure that I’ll be missing my RS-GP very soon."
Ducati are placed at the top of the Constructors' championship standings and they are followed by Yamaha and Aprilia respectively.
