Zesco United and Power Dynamos are two football teams that lost in the quarterfinals of this year's
ABSA Cup competition. The other teams that lost in the quarterfinals are Green Eagles and Indeni FC.
The quarterfinal matches took place at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka from April 13th to April 14th, 2024. Only two teams from the National League reached the quarterfinals: Nchanga Rangers from Chingola and Indeni from Ndola.
On April 13th, Kabwe Warriors, a team from the MTN Super League, played against Indeni FC, a National League side, in an early match.
Warriors played well but missed many chances before finally scoring in the 35th minute through Mathew Tolopa. Tolopa scored again in the second half, making it 2-0. In the 70th minute, Munda Phiri scored another goal for Warriors. Substitute Aka Mwachiaba scored in the 82nd minute, and in the 89th minute, an Indeni defender scored an own goal. Warriors won 5-0 and advanced to the semifinals.

The match at 15:00 hours was between Power Dynamos and FC MUZA. Both teams had chances to score, but it was a tough match. Many fans came to Nkoloma Stadium to watch. In the 84th minute, MUZA striker Andrew Phiri scored, and FC MUZA won 1-0, advancing to the semifinals.
On Sunday, April 14th, Zesco United played against Nchanga Rangers. Zesco United, a strong team, was hoping to win their 7th ABSA Cup title. However, Nchanga Rangers won 4-3 on penalties after the match ended in a draw. Many people were surprised by Zesco United's loss.
At 15:00 hours, Red Arrows played against Green Eagles. Red Arrows took the lead in the 5th minute through Ebengo and doubled their lead in the 16th minute with a goal from Saddam Phiri. Although Green Eagles scored one goal in the 52nd minute, Red Arrows won 2-1.
