Tony Finau will be looking to redeem himself by winning the
2023 Mexico Open having narrowly missed out on the title last year.
What to know about Finau
Nicknamed Big Tone, Finau is one of the best golfers in the world and he is currently placed 16th on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR).
Big Tone has won six professional tournaments including five PGA Tour events and he came close to winning his first golf major at the 2019 Open Championship as he finished third.

Finau took part at the 2023 RBC Heritage in South Carolina where he finished 31st and it remains his last participation in a professional event.
The Big Tone's best performance in 2023 came at the Farmers Insurance Open in California where he finished ninth in January.
Why Finau is among the favourites
Finau is the second highest ranked player on the OWGR in the field at the Mexico Open behind defending champion Jon Rahm.
The 33-year-old finished second behind Rahm at last year's Mexico Open and he will now be looking to go one step further by clinching the trophy.
He has won once in the current 2022-23 PGA Tour season having clinched the 2022 Cadence Bank Houston Open in November last year.

“In a position to win a tournament, you want to know what you’ve got to do,” Finau said after winning the Cadence Bank Houston Open.
“It was different nerves, I’ve never been in that position before where I was that far in front. I mean, I could get used to that, that’s a nice feeling to have.
"But I tried to just stay present and know that there’s still a lot of golf to be played, and I thought I did a pretty good job of that.”
