Kick-off is at 21:00

After suffering defeat prior to the latest international break, Sevilla will once again be eager to get back to winning ways when they travel to Valencia to take on Levante away next Monday.

Sevilla will enter their next La Liga assignment sitting in fifth position after noting 13 points from seven matches so far.

The popular Spanish side had the mammoth task of slaying the mighty Barcelona before the international break but ultimately fell to a 3-1 loss on home soil. Their defeat ended a two-match winning streak that included victories over Valencia and Deportivo respectively.

Overall, Sevilla recorded two wins, two losses and one draw in their previous five outings while Levante battles to produce positive results at the lower end of the table.

Levante are currently 17th on the La Liga standings with just five points from six matches played.

With only one win this season, Levante suffered back-to-back losses against Barcelona and Villareal in their previous two games. Regarding their recent run of form, Levante noted one win, two losses and two stalemates in their last handful of league ties.

Sevilla coach, Luis Garcia Plaza, who waxed lyrical over Barcelona’s strength before their last outing, noted that his side provided the first bit of danger to the log leaders this season.

Overall, Plaza mentioned that Sevilla ‘faded’ toward the end of the match and that he was proud of his side’s performance nonetheless.

"The problem with the first half is the result. We should have been winning,” Plaza said.

“The team has the ambition to win, but in the second half we faded , we didn't have that many substitutions and our mistakes were punished.

“We're very proud of the lads and how they competed. It's the first time Barça has been in danger. It's a shame we weren't winning in the first half because we deserved to.”
