Jorge Martín will be out to protect his riders’ championship lead and claim a second Indonesian MotoGP win.

On 4 October at the Japanese MotoGP, the man nicknamed Martinator finished second in the Grand Prix after leading the first 10 laps.
Martín kept the reigning champion and race winner Marc Márquez in sight to the flag, limiting the damage to his lead.

The Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer leads the 2026 MotoGP riders’ standings with 333 points.
Marc Márquez is next on 331, so Martín needs another strong weekend in Lombok if he is to leave Indonesia still in front.
Why Martín could win the Indonesian MotoGP
The Martinator took pole in Japan and smashed the lap record on the new Japanese asphalt, reminding everyone that the Aprilia is quick enough to beat Marc Márquez on merit.
Martín, who won the 2024 Indonesian MotoGP, has been the man to catch for most of 2026, and a win in Lombok would rebuild the cushion that the Japanese MotoGP double took away.

"I’m very happy because we’ve done a great job. I rode very well and kept a very strong pace right to the end. I tried to push right up to the final lap, but Márquez had something extra," Martín said after his second-place finish at the 2026 Japanese MotoGP.
"I feel privileged to be leading the championship while battling Marc. I think it’s incredible, considering where I was a year ago. I’m very happy. Aprilia and I are doing a great job together, and I feel good on the bike. We have everything we need to fight right to the end."
