Kimi Antonelli can use a Singapore Grand Prix win at Marina Bay to open his championship lead still further.

Antonelli took the podium behind winner Max Verstappen and ahead of third-placed Lewis Hamilton, as Mercedes left Malaysia with a useful points return despite a difficult weekend.

Antonelli leads the Drivers’ Championship with 320 points after 16 races.
The 20-year-old is 84 points clear of team-mate George Russell (236) and 106 ahead of Lewis Hamilton, with Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris further back.

Antonelli has already taken eight victories in 2026, including Monaco, and arrives off the back of a podium in Malaysia.
The Italian has the pace for this type of street circuit and Russell’s power-unit penalty means the main title rival starts Sunday’s race from the back of the grid.

“Yeah, I think, you know, Max has been very, very quick all weekend. Red Bull, they’ve been doing a great job, and we’ve just been struggling more than previous races," Antonelli said after the 2026 Bahrain GP.
"I think we’re still trying to understand the new package because also this track, with such a rough tarmac and high temperatures, it made our life more difficult. And probably next week in Singapore, we hopefully will have a better read on the package and also understanding what set-up needs to be run.
"But I think today, with the pace we had, P2 was the maximum we could have achieved.”
