Matchday 8
Chelsea vs Spurs
Stamford Bridge
London, England
Saturday, 24 October 2026
Kick-off is at 18:30
As one of the key fixtures heading into next round of action in the Premier League, Chelsea and Spurs will be under the spotlight in a keenly anticipated showdown in London on Saturday.
With Spurs in action against Coventry on Monday night, Roberto De Zerbi’s outfit have been without a win in the Premier League after six outings and noted just three points from their first six matches.
De Zerbi has come under intense scrutiny this season, given Spurs’ extensive buying power in the last transfer window as the London giant’s battle to produce positive results alongside quality acquisitions in the likes of Savinho, Sandro Tonali, Omar Marmoush and Mateus Fernandes.
While Spurs occupy 20th position on the table ahead of their Monday night fixture, Chelsea will go into their next league assignment sitting in fourth position with 13 points from seven matches.
After an inconsistent start to the campaign, with results that included two draws and one defeat in their last five, the Blues bounced back with consecutive wins over Bournemouth and Everton to enter the UEFA Champions League positions.
Speaking about adjusting to new surroundings at Chelsea, the experienced Jordan Henderson noted that the Blue’s overall quality has aided their progression under Xabi Alonso’s guidance this season.
“I'm loving playing football at the minute,’ beamed Henderson after recording back-to-back wins with the Blues for the first time,” Henderson said.
“I’ve come back in the last month or so from my injury and it’s an absolute privilege and honour to be playing with some of the players in this team.
“I'm just enjoying it, working with them every day and playing with them out on the pitch. There's some top quality, top talent, here, and I really feel like the team's beginning to take shape in terms of the togetherness and everything.”
