Villarreal will be looking to continue their impressive start to the season when they host Real Mallorca at La Ceramica on Saturday, November 22 in the late kick-off.

The Yellow Submarine are the closest challengers to Real Madrid and Barcelona in the La Liga title race after winning eight of their opening 12 matches this term.

Marcelino's side recorded their third win on the spin with a 2-0 success against Espanyol on November 8 to close within five points of league leaders Los Blancos.

The Castellon outfit, who have the joint-best defensive record in the league alongside Real with just 10 goals conceded, are only two points behind Barca in third place.

The Pirates have struggled for consistency this term and made a poor start to the campaign after going winless in their first six games.

However, Jagoba Arrasate's side are slowly pulling away from the relegation zone after winning three of their last six top-flight encounters.

A 1-0 victory over Getafe on November 9 took Mallorca two points clear of the bottom three in 15th position, but they're still without back-to-back wins in 2025-26.

Marcelino hailed his team's form in the opening three months as "remarkable" and has urged them to keep working hard in a bid to stay in touch with the perennial title contenders.

"The team is doing very well, as the table shows. We finished the game in second place (before Barca beat Celta Vigo)," the Spaniard said.

"Out of 36 points, we've picked up 26, which is remarkable, especially as we've already faced every European side except Barca. We have to keep working with humility, but going into the break with a win is fantastic.

"We're the team that has conceded the fewest goals (10) after 12 matchdays. The only two chances they (Espanyol) created came late on, with a header and a shot from outside the box."
