Enea Bastianini will be targeting nothing but a win when he competes in the Dutch Grand Prix having won three races the current term.

The Ducati rider endured a disheartening race at last year's Dutch MotoGP as he finished 15th and he recorded only one point.

Having been forced to retire from the last two races in the current season, Bastianini managed to finish the German MotoGP race on June 19 - settling for the 10th.

Nicknamed the Beast, Bastianini had a strong performance in Germany and it was a really important one after crashes in Mugello and Montmeló.

The German MotoGP was won by Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo and he was followed by the Ducati duo of Johann Zarco and Jack Miller.

Looking at the 2022 riders' standings, Quratarao remains at the top and he is followed by Aprilia's Aleix Espargaro and Zarco respectively with 10 races having taken place this season.

Bastianini, who is placed fourth on the standings, will move back into the top three positions if he wins the Dutch MotoGP and improve his hopes of challenging for the MotoGP world title.

“I’m only half happy: I didn’t have a great start as the bike did a wheelie," Bastianini said after the German MotoGP.

"I lost many places, but little by little I was able to recover. I really wanted to bring the bike home and a tenth spot finish is good confidence-wise.

"It’s without a doubt a positive Sunday, especially if we consider the absence of Alberto and yesterday’s unlucky qualifying. It has been a difficult weekend," he continued.

"But one on which we have built a good result.”

Ducati are placed at the top of the Constructors' championship standings and they are followed by Yamaha and Aprilia respectively.
