AC Milan will now shift their focus to Verona away from home for their next Serie A task following a major slip in their ambitions to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.
Milan will go into their next league assignment sitting in third position after gathering 63 points from 32 matches. The iconic Italian side suffered a heavy 3-0 loss against Udinese at the San Siro last Saturday, a result that came after a 1-0 defeat against Napoli during Matchday 31.
As it stands, Milan are three points ahead of fourth-placed Juventus, having recorded three losses and two wins in their last five games.
While Milan chases European football, Verona is deep within a relegation battle, currently sitting in 19th place with 18 points from 32 matches.
Verona also recorded four defeats in their last five matches, the latest being a 2-1 loss against Torino during Matchday 32, leaving them nine points from safety with six matches left to play.

Following Milan’s defeat to Udinese, coach Massimiliano Allegri lamented that his side’s chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League could be in jeopardy with Juventus and Como close behind.
“When you’re at the top near the end of the season and then lose the title objective, there can be a drop in intensity,” Allegri said.
I’m sure the players will react, we all will, and this defeat shows us that our Champions League place is at risk.”
